In an article published in the Dayton Business Journal on August 20, 2014, Inc. Magazine released its annual list of 5,000 fastest growing companies in the country, with 19 of them headquartered in the Dayton region. The local area also is home to the fastest-growing firm in Ohio.
The list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2010 to 2013.
Having these thriving companies in a region is valuable, as they often need to hire more workers or upgrade their offices to handle the increased workloads.
And the number of local Inc. 5000 companies is growing. The region had 17 on the list last year and 14 on the list in 2012.
For 2014, the fastest-growing Ohio company is located in the Miami Valley as Enon-based Ohio Investments ranks No. 48 overall with a three-year growth rate of 5,500 percent.
Ohio Investments — which buys and sells properties — is the only Ohio company ranked in the top 100.
