Students at Bellbrook Sugarcreek schools are noticing some changes in the classroom now that the district is going green.
It’s the first school district in Ohio to change all interior and exterior lighting to LED. ABC22FOX45’s Amber Jayanth met with the superintendent Dr. Keith St. Pierre to look at the improvements.
The changes will reduce energy by 60% helping the district save at least $222,382 each year. Dr. St. Pierre says the changes are not only good for the environment but the community will also benefit. “What we really looked at is saving the taxpayers dollars, stretching the money. Putting that money towards the kids instead of the energy.”
